This was an amazing vacation. The proximity to the beach/ dock was perfect. The pool was wonderful on a hot day, and the house was very comfortable. We loved every minute!

This house was in a quiet neighborhood not far from the beach where there were plenty of shells and not many people, so you felt like you could spread out and relax. In the house there were plenty of places to sit down and take a moment to enjoy the decorations and beach feel. Lots of bathroom space and towels for everyone and pool towels. Washer and dryer to help keep towels washed and ready for the next day. The pool was great and the grounds were well landscaped with flowers and bushes. A table and chairs with umbrella were a nice touch on the deck to enjoy meals outside. The kitchen floor needed a little TLC and there were a few rough boards on the deck - just slip on flip flops when walking across. We did not use the pool house. If we ever needed that much space again for a family vacation we would stay at Ships Ahoy.

The house was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The pool and hot tub were perfect for late afternoons following long days at the beach. The beach was beautiful and we had it all to ourselves as Captiva was quiet low-key and relaxing. It was especially nice to have such a large house and yard with beach chairs, pool toys, gas grill and indoor or outdoor dining tables that seated all seven of us. Each bedroom with private bathroom was tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation!

Ships Ahoy was the perfect home for a family gathering. Eight family members met here for our annual get together. The home was large, with enough room for each couple to have their own space and bathroom. It is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities you would expect or need while on vacation. The outdoor space was perfect for morning breakfasts and dinners and we spent a great deal of time relaxing by the pool, which provided a good amount of shade at the right times of the day. The homes proximity to the beach was also a bonus. I would highly recommend Ships Ahoy to others.

We stayed at the villa for a week in early April. The location is perfect as its close enough to Sanibel that you can head there for restaurants and other conveniences but its far enough that you really almost feel like you are in the keys. Our son and friend would go out to the dock every day and fish in the morning and then we would head to the beach or have some other plan in the afternoon. We took a fishing charter based out of the resort just up the block. The weather was perfect, the home was in great shape, clean and as mentioned before, was in a great location. I would surely encourage others to stay here. A great getaway if you are tired of the weather up north.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house was lovely and the short walk to the beach was great! We were a little upset since we rented a 5 bedroom/bath house and only had access to 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (the 5th was padlocked due to plumbing issues the day we arrived). We were told that the owner was in the process of making it a 4 bedroom/bath rental. I explained we paid for a 5 bedroom/bath & this was unacceptable. Although RE/MAX was able to provide a key to the 5th detached bedroom, the accomodations did not work for us since there was no working 5th bathroom as indicated and the bed was more like a double rather than a queen & two adults could not sleep comfortably. There were a few other minor issues but nothing that would hinder us from staying there again.
